Francesca Galliani is an Italian fine arts photographer who lives and works in New York City. She uses photography, painting and elements of collage to piece together her evocative artworks.
Galliani has exhibited internationally including New York, Milan, Paris, Berlin, Venice & Rome, showing alongside artists such as Mapplethorpe, Araki and Bettina Rheims.
The fashion world has embraced Galliani’s style, with her photography appearing in internationally acclaimed magazines such as Velvet, Detour, Vogue, Cosmopolitan and D of La Repubblica. Her artworks are in the private collections of fashion icons such as Giorgio Armani (who she has also photographed) and to the designer of Ferragamo’s female line.
One of the highlights in her fashion career was the creation of Levis’ advertising campaign “Blue” with the original works being chosen for the Milan Triennale in 2007. This year, Levis have commissioned her once again for their advertisement to launch next year’s range of coloured jeans in Italy.
In July 2011, thirty-four of her pieces were exhibited at the Manage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia.
“Warriors” is her first solo show with Showcase Gallery in UAE and it runs until 31st December 2011.
