During the month of February, Showcase Gallery will be showing the works of Mohammad Fassounaki.

Fassounaki was born in Tabriz, Iran where he also attended art school.

As a result, his work is mostly an expression of his homeland and the society within it. Admittedly fleeing from idealism, some of his works carry a dark and ominous tone, however, the celebratory colours he uses often balance out the mood. Nature is a prominent feature in his work, flowers being symbols of comfort and joy.

A book containing 244 images of his artworks and more about his life and inspirations will be given with every Fassounaki piece sold. 

"Mohammed Fassounaki" will be showing throughout February 2012
